Lung Chi

A therapeutic yoga and moving meditation from the Tibetan tradition, Lung Chi harmonises the body, the mind and the circulation of the breath (Lung) to lead towards inner silence.

Lung Chi is a bodily, energetic and meditative practice from the Tibetan tradition. It can be seen as a form of therapeutic yoga and a moving meditation. It harmonises the body, the breath (Lung) and the mind, without any pursuit of performance.

In the Tibetan tradition, “Lung” refers to the breath, the wind or the subtle energy that circulates within the body. Our physical, emotional and mental state is intimately tied to the quality of this circulation. When we go through periods of stress, fatigue or emotional tension, our breathing shortens or quickens, the body contracts and the mind grows restless. Lung Chi then offers a progressive work that helps us regain greater fluidity, stability and presence.

Therapeutic virtues

Lung Chi is a meditation practice that, through movement, releases tension, soothes the breath and calms the mind to lead towards inner serenity. Its four benefits are:

  • Body: release of stress, grounding and bodily awareness.
  • Breath: deeper breathing, energetic circulation and relaxation.
  • Mind: managing emotions, calm and clarity of mind.
  • Meditation: an ideal preparation for inner silence.

What you will discover in the training

The teaching of the “Lung Chi” training unfolds as a progressive path in three main stages, resting on the following teachings:

  • Purification: becoming aware of and releasing physical, respiratory and behavioural tensions.
  • Transformation: relearning to manage the body, the breath and the emotions, towards a true self-knowledge.
  • Liberation: harmony of body and mind, leading to inner silence and meditation.
